"This is Richard with expertvillage.com, this segment I'm going to show a demonstration on three basic strokes of pool. As we are approaching the ball, once again I'm using a strike ball for this demonstration. We are setting the strike ball cross ward. What we got is just a basic straight in shot. One pocket into the next and we are coming, we are approaching the shot I'm going to show a follow shot first. As we are coming in, we are going to be hitting the ball, we are going to be hitting both center. The whole idea is what you want to do is just come in make the ball, have your cue ball follow right into the pocket right behind that ball. Then you will notice as you were watching the strike, the strike is going to continue to roll in forward motion, meaning that I didn't hit the ball on top. Come in, start off in the center, raise my cue, raise my bridge hand, line up the shot, stroke and follow through. Next we will be shooting a stop shot. A stop shot is a shot hitting the ball center of the ball. Right in the center of the ball what you are doing, what the cue ball is actually doing is sliding into the ball. There is not forward motion no reverse motion. The cue ball is just in a slid motion, bounce to this ball, the ball is pocketed, this ball stops dead right behind this ball. Down on the shot, I'm now center of the cue ball. And the final stroke that I will show is the draw shot. What you doing here is hitting the low center, hitting the cue ball, pocketing your object ball, drawing your cue ball into this other side pocket straight back at you. Remember what this is the balls are set up straight or the balls are in an angle, naturally its not going to come back into the pocket. Coming in to the shot. Most importantly you are going follow through. You lower your bridge hand, catching right below center. "
