" Hello I'm Richard on behalf of expertvillage.com I'm going to try to explain a few other fouls that may or may not occur during the game of 9 ball. We have gone over a few few others that exist are the cue is pocket or knocked off the table, or any object balls are knocked off the table that is a foul. Pocketing the nine ball and the cue ball in the same stroke constitutes a foul. Nine ball we be spotted, the cue ball would be hand to your opponent. Now hitting the lowest number ball on the table will be a fall. In this case I'm shooting at the one ball coming down on the shot, came in contact with the cue ball first. That constitutes a foul. Ball in hand to my opponent. When you do have cue ball in hand and you set your shot you look at your shot and you if you don't like ...as long as after the fall you still get to reposition your cue ball as many times or when you have the position of the table that you want. Once your ball is down you want you cue tip to come in contact with the cue ball then everything goes after that and from there you continue your play. Couple of more things on fouls that I want to go over is you must at all times at lease have one foot on the floor when you are shooting the shot. Also when you are approaching a shoot and you are coming in say you are coming in a tight corner here and shot at the one ball and you come in and you accidentally bump in to the cue ball with your hand well that accident just cost you ball. That is a foul coming in contact with the cue ball. If you are coming in trying to land a shot from behind the four ball and I hit the top of the cue ball with the stick that is going to be a foul. The cue ball can not be moved at anytime or into any object ball other then we have cue ball in hand."
