As far as I'm concerned, as far as setting up to were going to get a solid hit on your cue ball. You are setting your bridge your hand must be flat on the table and your hand also is supporting your weight. You don't want your bridge is just your main foundation of the whole shot and you want to be able to support yourself on that. You set you set your hand flat on the table and you just put your weight on that and that is what you want, you don't want no loose bridge, you don't want to fallen under or falling over trying to get to the cue ball. Once you have set yourself solid we will go into this, we will just call it the close bridge. You are setting your hand flat, you are forming a V with your thumb and the shaft of the cue will set right over that V. Take your index finger, your index finger will wrap around that shaft of the cue, other three finger are out flat on the table and you want your grip to be a firm grip on that shaft of the cue. Lose grip on the bottom of the cue. Firm grip on the shaft. You want this, the purpose of that is for control on your cue ball on your stroke when you are hitting the ball you if you have a lose grip on it you are going you have the tendency to miss cue. Your grip should be at such a tightness that your shaft, you can actually lift your cue of the ground. If your trying to lift your cue up and you are not able to get your cue up, well then you need to tighten up on your grip. "
