"Hi, my name is Rick Van Hoorn and here to talk about mountain biking for Expert Village. With so many parks and forests so close to urban settings there's a lot of chance for multi user trails to be utilized while equestrians, hikers as well as mountain bike riders. So there's been a coat of ethics that has been drawn up and basically mountain bike riders needs to yield the right away to everybody. That means we stop for hikers, we also stop for equestrians, especially equestrians. Horses can rear up and the horse or somebody could get injured or even worse, there could be a fatality all because of mountain biking and some people just don't want to slow down to rest and everybody stops for hikers as well as mountain bike riders. Another good place to read more about it is in the Santa Barbara Mountain Biking book. This book in particular is made by a local guy named Raymond Ford Jr., but the rules that he's written down here apply for everywhere."
