"Hi, my name is Rick Van Hoorn and I'm here to talk about mountain biking for Expert Village. Now I'm going to go ahead and show you how I fill up my bag that carries my 3 liter bladder for my long rides. First of all I always make sure I've dumped my pump in there, one of the most important things to carry on a ride. Secondly my tool kit, I throw that inside the large outer pocket that has the zipper on it. At this point it's always best to throw the water bladder in. When you throw that in you want to make sure the hose is pointing or going up, running up the length of it. No sense of having the hose in the bottom where the mouthpiece is so you can't get to it. Just kind of shake it until it decides it wants to go in and there it goes. I make sure this is not leaking cause when you're out there in the 3 hour, 4 hour ride you need that water that's laying on the ground. Next thing I throw in is I throw in my food into the pockets, throw my bandanna in and that means I also have this pocket here for carrying jackets, tights, things like that and I also could put other clothing underneath these pieces of strapping as well. Then what I do is I take the bag, throw it around my shoulder, throw the second shoulder strap on and I go ahead and put the sternum strap on and then I go ahead and take the clip that it has on the hose and I just clip to my sternum buckle and there I am ready to go drink my water whenever I need it."
