Video Transcript

" Hi! My name is Riki Butler and I am a fitness professional. I have been in the fitness industry as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and group exercise coordinator for the past 10 and a half years. I am currently certified through APHA and AAAI as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and a Pilates instructor. I also have a degree in health science eduction from the University of Florida. On behalf of expertvillage.com today I will be demonstrating exercises that you can do using free weights. A free weight is a dumbbell or barbell. What the definition of a free weight is, it is just a piece of equipment that you use to exercise that is not attached to a machine. Machines provide support and free weights do not provide support. So it does require a lot of core strength and balance for you to use free weights. If you do have problems with balance and your core is not very strong, you may want to start doing some of these exercises with the machine and then you can move on to free weights. You can work every muscle in the body using free weights and now I will be demonstrating at least two exercises per body part that you can do with free weights. We are going to go ahead and get started."
