Series Summary

The first weightlifting World Championship occurred in London on March 28th , 1891 but weightlifting traces back in history to the ancient Greeks and Egyptians where we find weightlifting used to judge human strength. In the Twenty-First Century weightlifting is as popular as ever, with many events in the Olympics and thousands of gyms all across the world. There are many exercises for almost every muscle you can name and a correct and an incorrect way to workout those muscles. One specific muscle that is important to strengthen is the bicep.

Learn from certified personal trainer Ricketta Butler as she demonstrates proper bicep machine and free weight exercises such as the preacher curl, bisolator, arm curl on machine, military pull up, bicep curl on cable machine, plate loaded arm curl, bicep machine workout, standing arm curl, dumbbell hammer curl, barbell basic and variety bicep curl, and the one arm curl.

" Hi! My name is Riki Butler and I am a fitness professional. I have been working in the fitness field for the past ten and a half years. I am certified in personal training, Pilates and group exercise instructing. I am certified through AFAA and AAAI. I also have a degree from the University of Florida in Health Science Education. On behalf of expertvillage.com, today I will be demonstrating exercises that work your biceps. Your biceps are located on the front of your arm and between your elbow and your shoulder. Your biceps consist of two different muscles, biceps brachii. Your biceps works by a curling motion. So anything we do curling your arms up to your body works the muscles in your biceps. See if you are grocery shopping and you are picking up a grocery bag and holding it you are working your biceps. Today I am going to demonstrate biceps exercises on a couple of different machines, some free weights and we will do them in different directions. So we are going to go ahead and get started. "
