"Hi! I’m Paul from Eastern Mountain Sports on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip, I am going to demonstrate how to properly maintain and stow a climbing helmet. These helmets can be used for climbing and/or mountaineering. First look over the webbing around the ears to make sure that there are no nicks, tears or frays. Also, make sure that the buckle at the chin is working correctly. You can then turn the helmet around and find the automatic adjuster that is on it and make sure that it is adjusting bigger or smaller to fit your head. On the inside, make sure that the foam casing, the part that is going to save you, is properly secured inside the shell of the helmet. When stowing your helmet, you can slip it in the sleeve or try to stow inside of your climbing bag so that it doesn’t swing or hit any rocks so that it doesn’t crack or chip your helmet. "
