"Hi! I’m Paul from Eastern Mountain Sports on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip, I am going to demonstrate how to properly maintain and stow a headlamp. As you know, headlamps will be used when you are climbing near dusk and might get dark on you. First and foremost, make sure that your headlamp does turn on and that it moves on its axis. While it is on, make sure that every bulb works and that none of them are cracked. The cord that goes from the headlamp itself to the battery pack should not be nicked or torn at all. Make sure that it is secure leading into both battery pack and headlamp. The battery pack should not have any cracks in it because that will help keep the moisture out. The screw on the battery pack should be securely tight. All the straps on your headlamp should not be nicked, torn or frayed. When stowing your headlamp, it is best to stow on a cool dry environment and take the batteries out for proper stowage. If your headlamp happens to get wet, make sure that you remove the cover on the battery pack and let the battery pack air dry before storing. "
