"Hi! I’m Paul from Eastern Mountain Sports on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip, I am going to show you how to properly maintain and stow crampons. Crampons are used in mountaineering and are an essential tool for getting to the top. First make sure that all webbing around the boot on all sides is not nicked, frayed or torn. After from coming back from your venture make sure that the spikes on the bottom are as sharp as the day you bought them. When stowing your crampons, never put them loose in your bag as they may tear or rip your webbing or your essential gear like your harness. What you can do is remove them from your boot and clasp them down inside, carefully wrap the webbing around it and show the crampon in its own stow bag that it should come with. Once this is done, you can properly place it in your climbing bag and proceed on with your venture. "
