"This is Patrick Kenton with the Wind Riders Disc Golf Club in Lubbock, Texas. We are going to discuss forehand throws. Many players do not take advantage of forehand throws, many players will get caught up in a backhand throw, which is a great throw to have, but if you want to go around a tree in the distance from left to right, a forehand throw is a great shot to have. Let’s talk about how to hold the disc; there are a couple of options most players will put two fingers in - something like that and some players will bend a finger - something like that. But generally that is a good way to start, you turn it over and it is the popping of a towel in the locker room concept. You want to pop the towel. Some players will keep their elbow in a little tighter and some players will try to get it out a little farther that is a little bit technique situation. Older players many times complain that it hurts their elbow a little bit, myself I saw the advantage in the shot so I wanted to get it into my game it just took a while for me to practice that elbow and make that feel a little bit better. As a beginner player, the forehand shot is a great throw. As you develop a right backhand throw is a very great throw if you have a really strong arm and are very athletic, but a forehand throw you do not have to have a lot of arm speed, you do not have to have a lot of strength and you can still get very good distance with just a flick of the wrist. So let’s take a look at a couple of forehand throws, I am going to throw that direction. Remember to try to follow through. And that is the forehand throw. "
