"Hi my name is Peter with Expert Village and today I'm going to talk to you about cross country running. All right in this section, I'm going to talk to you about your breathing. When you're running, you should be breathing in through your nose and then out through your mouth as such. So it's a little cold outside so you can see that - the air coming out. And speaking of cold, now that we're talking about it a lot of times what will happen is you can go running early in the morning. A lot of your events will be then or they can be in the later evening. It just depends. But if you ever get a side pain - a lot of times you'll get a side pain coming right here on the side - all you want to do is don't stop running. You can continue running. Just cup your hands. And if you cup your hands, place it over your nose really tight. When you breathe in through your nose, out through your mouth. In through your nose, out through your mouth. Do that a couple of times until the pain subsides and goes away. And all you're doing is you're taking in some warm air, filling your lungs up with it and blowing out. And you can continue jogging and it'll probably take anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute, minute and a half and then the pain will go away."
