"On behalf of expertvillage.com my name is Ray Boone and I run the Ray Boone Golf Academy at the beautiful Miami Beach Golf Club. Today I'd like to present to you the topic of the over the top golf swing. Some other common problem with the over the top is how people work their shoulders. A lot of people have really strong upper body's and they want to use those to hit the golf ball and basically what that creates is a swing where they go to the top, they're muscling it, they're lunging at it, their shoulders are going outward and that throws the club again over the top and outside. Again, they're slicing the golf ball, it creates pop up shots with your driver, you're hitting a big pulse slice or you hit pulse to the left, all kind of bad errors just from one problem and that again is what the shoulders do in the swing. The shoulders never work outward, the shoulders work under. The right shoulder drops underneath and again that's going to put you on that inside slot on the down swing. I even have people that go over, but then they kind of loop their hands back in behind them to save the shot and that is not the right way to do it, get the shoulders working under."
