" On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Raymond T. Meyer of Lost Island Voyages, Miami, Florida. And this is Ben and Antonio. Today where going to touch on the subject of beginning of canoing and kayaking. The conditions that we have today are a little bit rougher beginning canoing. But we want to show you how to get under way and head up in to the wind. It is important to always remember when you are canoing, you always take the difficult path first. So if you need to go up into the wind, then you can return with the wind, or if you have a current situation, paddle into the current first, and then when you are or become tired and your ready to turn around, you can ride the current back. Okay Ben and Antonio are going to get up on there way, and they are going to show you the proper way to start off from a standing position in the water and start to canoe. Ben gets the canoe first while Antonio holds the bow and canoes into the wind. As soon as Ben is settled and ready to go, Antonio steps in. So Ben can immediately start to paddle away from the shore, otherwise the bow of the canoe would fall off the wind and land on the shore."
