" On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Raymond Temeyer with Lost Island Voyages, and we also have with us Valerie Kevorkian from Tarpoon Lagoon Dive Center in Miami Beach. We’re going to talk about snorkeling today and all the opportunities that it provides. One of the issues that snorkelers have to deal with in being able to see under water is to keep their masks from fogging up. It’s a natural occurrence that wants to happen, so we have to think of ways to prevent it. There are commercially available drops to put in your mask and you smear that around on the lenses after you drop it in. That will stop fog from accumulating on your lenses. Another way that you can do it, that you always have available, it’s a natural way, it’s to just spit in your mask and smear that around. If you can let it sit for a little while before you go in the water as with the drops, it works even better. When you’re diving and snorkeling, you can allow your mask to flood and that will clear the fog off of it, but that won’t last for too much longer. You need to maybe reapply some anti fog or just spit in your mask again to keep your mask from fogging up, because it gets to be pretty annoying and it keeps you from seeing all the things that are available to see under water.
