on 9/4/2008 ay ay ay, he's generating power with the leg, not the hip, watch the step he takes while driving: what he's doing is taking away about 25% of his pivoting power and if you watch closely you can see that becuase he's throwing with the leg his pivot and his hip aren't in sync during the technique. The "punt' style kick he's throwing is more of a slap. If you want to deliver maximum damage to the point just above the knee, I recommend the down kick, which is a round kick in which once the hios are turned over you drop your weight with the pivot and angle the strike downward.

Okay I'm going to demonstrate the low kick what we are looking to do is get absolutely maximum power to the lower part of the leg it is like a football punch. So what I'm looking to do is stretch my stance really wide before I launch get the full swing of my hip in there and kick with my lower shin. I could get more power by hopping in there a little bit. Cutting down on your opponent muscle just above the knee is what I'm looking for."
