Cradling is taking the ball side to side. Flipping it something with a puck you'll do the same thing. It is like cradling an egg. When you are younger they teach to basically how to cradle the egg with out breaking it. Now in hockey it is very important to have soft hands. You receive the hockey or the ball if you get it you able to pass it. It is very important so when you take a shot or something and you release it. You release from here to there. Now the same thing goes from here when it gives you motion you bring it back here you come up big motion. You got to cradle it. "
