Make the most efficient use of the turf on a driving range or practice range to avoid damaging the turf with lots of divots. Learn driving range etiquette in this free online instructional video.
"Hi, I’m Rich Carr from Meadia Heights Golf Club in Lancaster, PA. I’m going to talk a little bit about driving range etiquette or practice range etiquette. I just want to make a point here about the divot pattern here, you can see that this person was hitting balls, and they probably hit about 200 balls in this little space right here. Over here we had someone who hit about, um , maybe 25 balls in the same amount of space. My point is, is that to make the most efficient use of turf, when you hit balls, you want to go ahead and just hit off the last divot that you made and I’m going to demonstrate here a little bit. So what I would do is that I would set the next ball very close to the original divot that I made, to make the most efficient use of the turf on the range. I could set it here, or I could set it right over here, either way I am now efficient with using the turf on our practice range."
