"Hi, I’m Rich Carr from Meadia Heights Golf Club in Lancaster, Pa. I’m going to talk about bunker etiquette today. As you can see my ball has ended up in a footprint of someone who previously played the hole, and neglected to rake the bunker. And unfortunately in the rules of golf I’m going to go ahead and have to hit the shot from there without moving the ball. So it’s very important as you play, if you do hit it in a bunker to rake the bunker after get finished in the bunker. I’m going to go ahead and try to hit this shot and then I’m going to show you how to properly rake a bunker. Okay, so I would go back here, grab the rake, smooth out the bunker, just the way hopefully I found it. So you can see, as I smooth out the bunker, getting all the footprints, and the other thing I’m doing, is making sure that I don’t leave any ridges. And I’m going to leave it just the way I found it. Oop, one more footprint. And that’s how you rake a bunker. Theres a couple more points I’d like to make to you on bunker etiquette. As you can see I’m done raking the bunker. There’s already a rake over there, so what I’m going to do with this rake is place it on the other side of the bunker. Also when you get out of the bunker you may want to just kinda beat off your shoes here, a little bit. Make sure you get the extra sand off there so it doesn’t track onto the green. I’m going to go ahead and place this rake so the next person that enters the bunker will be able to easy find a rake."
