"Hi, I’m Rich Carr from Meadia Heights Gold Club in Lancaster, PA on behalf of Expert Village. I’m here to share some cell phone etiquette tips on the golf course. As you can see cell phones can be a very disruptive force on the golf course, not only to yourself but to your playing partners. One of the suggestions I would make is that if you must carry a cell phone, put the cell phone on vibrate, and silence all ringers. Many clubs have cell phone policies in which you can’t take the cell phone onto the golf course. There are certainly stories, tales of players who have not abided by the rule and have gotten kicked off golf courses for not following this particular rule, but its more out of a courtesy to your playing partners. If a cell phone should ring in their back swing, it certainly could throw off their game. So do yourself a favor, put your phone on vibrate or turn it off. If you turn it off, you might find that you’ll enjoy your round a lot better and this should help you with your cell phone etiquette. "
