"My name is Richard Buccola and I am going to introduce you to Pool 101. Okay, we are back. First thing I want to talk about is actually you are going to hold the stick. Now there are probably a million different ways you could actually hold it but we are going to talk 3 specific ways that I like to use and I like to teach. When you hold your stick, this part of your hand is called the bridge. I believe in 3 different types of bridges. The first bridge is going to be your standard bridge what you use most of the time and what I like to do is I tell my students this, to make a fist on the table, put your thumb up like this, put this finger out, put the stick on it so it rests and then just wrap it around and then stick out these 3 fingers. That is going to be your main bridge; it’s sturdy, it doesn’t have no where to go, your stick is in there and honestly is a great great bridge to do 90 percent of your shots."
