"This next clip I'm going to talk about a safety shot. Okay let me talk about a safety shot. A safety shot is a legal shot and it's designed to give yourself a little defense. The scenario goes like this, if you look at the table the four ball is the object ball. I don't have a good shot on the four, so I have to make sure a ball hits a rail to be a legal shot. I also have to hit the four first. So I might do what?s called a safety shot where you just might want to hit the four very easily, it will roll. The cue ball hits the four very easy it might just roll like this and then this cue ball rolls back this way, hits the rail like so right, and stays behind the bunch. Leaving your opponent no shot and giving him a hard shot. Now he'd have to try to hit this four first, if he doesn't you get ball in hand. Then you can pretty much run the table then. So a safety shot is a big shot designed, you're going to see a lot of safety shots in Nine Ball when you don't have a shot and you're trying to snooker your player. Giving him a hard shot so you can get ball in hand. Let me show you that shot through, just to show you a good example of a safety shot. Alright so again let me show you the shot. I don't really have a good shot for the four, it doesn't go anywhere, so I might want to play a safe. I don't have to call it I just have to make sure I hit the four first and one of the balls hit a rail and it's a safe shot. So I'm just going to touch it very lightly, very lightly on the edge, and try to roll the ball into that cushion like I said earlier. So there you go. I mean it didn't do it like the scenario on, like I said, but look at how great of a safe shot that is. The ball went off the rail, hit a rail, it came back, it's actually touching the six. He has a very difficult shot on the four now. Now if he doesn't hit his four first I get ball in hand which gives me a great advantage and running the table and winning the game."
