"Okay, your last illegal break is when you break the balls and one of the nine object balls fly off the table. Now remember if that happens, you lose your turn because it's a foul, your opponent does not get "ball in hand", they only get to shoot the cue ball from wherever it is on the table, and they must shoot the lowest object ball. Remember any balls that fly off the table go down in the pocket, they stay down, or any balls that get pocketed along with the ball that gets off the table, stay down pocketed. The only ball that comes up is, of course, the 9 ball, and that gets on the other spot. Let me show you an object ball flying off the table on a break. Alright here's where an object ball flies off the table on the break. Okay, so you see the 9 ball came off the table there, no other ball did. My opponent gets to shoot the cue ball from where it was, the nine ball goes up on the spot. If there were any other balls that came off the table, they would just go down in the pocket, and he would then get to shoot the cue ball from wherever it lies. Those are your three different scenarios for an illegal shot on the break in 9 Ball."
