"Okay, in this next clip I'm going to demonstrate the illegal breaks for 9 ball. So here's the most common foul on the break, it's when you scratch on the 9 ball and it gives your opponent "ball in hand". And basically you're going to hit the cue ball from behind the headline, into the 1 and the cue ball goes in one of the six pockets and scratches. Alright so there's a scratch on the break, let me show you a jump ball on the break next. Alright the next illegal break is when you hit the cue ball into the rack and the cue ball jumps off the table, it's the same thing as a scratch or a pocketing the cue ball in one of the pockets. So it looks something like this. So you see, when a ball comes off the table, the cue ball, now your opponent has "ball in hand" which he gets to place the ball anywhere on the table and he gets to shoot the lowest ball on the table. Remember any balls that get pocketed, or fall off the table, go down, unless it's the 9 ball and that gets spotted on the spot."
