"On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Captain Rafael Mayans down here in South Florida with Sea Cross Sports Fishing Inc. Today we are going to explain to you offshore fishing techniques. Where's ballyhoo? Either you fish them naturally just like this with no skirts in front of them which is excellent for targeting species like sail fish and dolphins. Now when I troll unskirted ballyhoos, I tend to troll them at slow speeds that way the bait doesn't wash off the hook and you don't have to repeatedly be changing the ballyhoo. You want the ballyhoo to be remain stiff and natural at all times. So the natural baits, they work really well. To avoid washing out the bait you can put a skirt on top of the bait and what that does is that it prevents the seaweed and any other debris constantly hitting the bait causing the bait to foul up and wash out.
