"Hi! I'm Niqui with Studio Soiree. I'd like to show you the ultimate progression of the half bracket hold. It's called the Chinese flagpole. The half bracket hold has one arm up high and the other low with our thumb pointing down. If you're in the half bracket hold, you first want to just start in the hold. You want to make sure that your elbow isn't bent or isn't locked so that your elbow doesn't hate you tomorrow. As you progress, you can start coming out farther. You're just going to do this. It'll take weeks, but it'll definitely, definably be worth it. Once you're out far enough, you can do things like the boomerang or splits. Then when we progress all the way, we can do the Chinese flagpole, which looks like this. If you can do that, you've got really, really tough lats and obliques."
