"Hi! I'm Niqui with Studio Soiree and I'm going to show you the flagpole. It's amazing how quickly men catch onto this, but believe it, women can do it too. What we're going to do is this is going to engage our lats on the top arm, which is going to be our inside arm. We're going to use our shoulders, our biceps, every part of our arm on the lower side. Make sure you're never locking your elbow. Then we're going to take our body out parallel to the floor. This is engaging our core and especially our obliques. I'll show you how it goes. You tuck the pole under your arm. With your inside arm, you're going to hold with your hand, thumb facing down. Then the next arm is going to go across the front of you, and you're getting setup with your thumb down. Position your body such that your pelvis is facing forward. You can go ahead and sit on the elbow if you'd like. Then we'll bring our body up. I'll show you again. Hook, hold thumb down, outside arm thumb down, our hip is on our outside arm; our leg comes out for a flagpole."
