" Hi welcome to Expert Village my name is Nicholas Daniel. Mental preparation is extremely important sky diving due to the fact that in this sport you only have about 60 seconds to complete your desired outcome. There are many tricks that can help yourself to have a more successful sky dive. One of the things if visualization and the way that you do that is you want to find a nice quiet corner and just go ahead and think about and really visualize. You want to see what you really are going to be doing in the sky before you actually do it. Second of that would be dirt diving, or walking. If you are a formation sky diver you want to go ahead and think about the formations and you really want to practice them with your teammates on the ground. So you actually see people walking the formation and taking grips on the ground. Creeping is an excellent tool as well it is very very similar to dirt diving except for you are in a wooden board with wheels on it and you are moving around on the ground as you where in the sky. Everybody is lying on their bellies the same way they would in the sky. So everybody can kind of see where they need to be. It is a lot easier to establish eye contact this way. Last but not least you have the mock up or the practicing exits. You find on a drop some you have a mock plane or a mock exit door. You see sky divers actually practice exiting the air plane as if they were if they were in the sky. It allows them to kinda go into detail where everybody needs to be and having a more successful exit.
