"We're going to talk about how to get out of a sit-inside kayak. First thing, I'm done with the paddle, I want it out of my way. I'm going to take the paddle behind me, put it here where it's on the boat, I know what's going on, I can always grab it if I need it, and I'm ready to go. So, again, I'm going to put both hands on the dock, like I'm doing a push up. I want to get the weight on my chest and my head out of the boat and on the dock. So I'm going to reach across like this, (hi dog!), I'm going to reach across, (one of the problems when you're try getting out of kayaks, dogs like to lick you in the face, but anyway), I'm going to reach across, I've got all my weight on my hands. I'm pulling my legs in towards my chest because I want to hold the boat against the dock. (Hello!) So what I want to do, as I do that, is just roll out of the boat like this, and I'm out safe and sound. So the biggest thing, again, is pulling your knees towards your chest which keeps the boat against the dock."
