"MICKEY DENONCOURT: For me, personally, the way my bike fits and stuff like that, when I'm doing a good tempo across a field section or something like that, I'm often in the saddle and usually on the hoods of my bike. I'm usually--I mean on the tops of my brakes versus on the hoods. I'm right here. When I'm here, my hips have a nice open angle to make it easy do absorb shock. I don't have to--it saves my back a little bit, of course, being out here or down here. When you get out of the saddle like if you're going to accelerate, you're going to climb. You're going to try to close the gap. You almost invariably on a cross bike go to the hoods, so standing up versus sitting down. As I ride by, I'll try to do it in slow motion but you'll see. So I'm out of the saddle, hips are nice and open when I'm on the hoods and then when I ride through on my seat it's sort of in the same angle.
