"MICKEY DENONCOURT: So I just rolled into that corner. I went probably close to a race speed, probably not where you go the first lap but every other lap, you know, a good rolling speed. And I don't know if you saw but, you know, my bike shuddered a little bit going in because I got on the brakes because I knew that this is a hard corner - it was loose - I just, you know, washed out on it a few seconds ago, so I know that I needed my braking before I get to the corner. So, you know, mid-corner braking is just going to, especially in a cross bike, loose conditions, is going to pull you right off the bike, right off your line. So I'm going to take this one more time, brake a little bit later and you'll see it's not as smooth. I'd probably come out of the corner slower. Exit speed is way more important than entrance speed and probably a lot more chance of me getting knocked off the bike too. So to make it through and around that corner nice and tight, I had to drag my back break through so I had to skid through and stuff like that. It's a waste of energy. You don't want to do it. If I hadn't dragged my back brake and stuck my foot out to get around, I probably would have just gone right off the corner into the woods and that obviously doesn't get you to the finish line quickly."
