"There are other forms of safety here that you can wear as well. You know keep you a little bit less scratched up and maybe help you enjoy that learning curve of riding bikes. One thing that sometimes I don't wear is gloves. You should really always wear them because you can see here not wearing gloves, you cut up your hands. So simply just making sure you put on a pair of gloves helps a lot. If you fall, it gives you something to break you know you will break the surface of the glove and not the hand which is really handy especially if you have to go to work on Monday. Another thing that really helps out a lot of people being more comfortable is wearing a knee shin pad. Various manufacturer's sell pads that slide on, come to your knee cap which is great because we all know how much it can hurt to hit one's knees and cover your shins. You can see by looking at my legs that I have a lot of scars. I do a bad job wearing protection and this is what I get for that but for a simple $20 or $30 at a bike shop, you can buy some pads that are really going to help you improve those learn and care for you."
