"So why do we shift? So why do we shift? A lot gears don't really know what to do with them in this particular incident I'll show you sort of when and why when coming up this hill. Throughout the bottom of this hill imagine you've been riding for you know 25, 30 minutes and your getting the top of a long climb, there's one pitch left to go. When do you shift, why do you shift and what button do you use? I'm assuming by arding the lowest gear the easiest gear in the front and I need an easier gear in the back, so your right shifter your gear shifter is the shifter that you want to use. And you know you want to hit the lever that releases the cable tension so here I am I've been riding I'm approaching the switch back, ease up on the pedals a little bit, grab myself 2 gears, as you can see I'm on the easiest gear on the back, and I head up. So if I was going to come back down the hill want to grab a couple more gears so."
