"Hi, this is Mike Lopez with Expert Village. Okay, now we are going to discuss the ultimate goal of any game. This is of course winning. The whole point of playing and learning all the rules of eight ball is to win and beat your opponent. Now here as you could see, all the solids have been pocketed and we have the eight ball ready to go into the pocket. Now the first thing you must do is call the pocket. You must literally say to your opponent that the eight ball is going in this corner pocket and you must point to it. If you just say corner pocket, there could be a misunderstanding which can lead to a lot of argument. Once again you want an open, honest win, so once again you make sure that you call your pocket. Now, one thing that you want to keep in mind is not scratching on the eight ball. Because if you scratch on the eight ball you just turn in a pretty much a free win into an automatic lost. Eight ball, corner pocket. Eight ball, corner pocket. And that is how you win at eight ball. Now this call pocket on eight ball works just like all call pocket shots. However, even in traditional non-call pocket eight ball, you must call the eight ball. Calling the eight ball in the corner pocket and making it into another pocket will resolve, once again in an automatic lost. Because this is equaled to a scratch on an eight ball. So those are the two things you want to keep in mind when you are shooting the eight ball as the last and final shot to assure victory. Eight ball, corner pocket. And if this occurs, then you automatically lose at eight ball."
