"Hi, this is Mike Lopez with Expert Village. Now we're going to discuss the most basic of all is the stroke and the stance. Now whatever bridge you choose these are most important aspects of all pool. So what you want to do is get down on your stance with your bridge whatever bridge you choose and then you make a nice pendulum with your elbow. Now notice that your elbow does not move it is constantly lock at a 45 degree angle to your shoulder, unless of course you're bridging up. What you want to do is you want to stroke it up nice back and forth and when you hit the ball you want to make sure that you're almost surprised by hit, like shooting a gun. And with a gentle squeeze of the trigger when you do so once again you get roughly about 4" away from the cue ball and you just gently stroke it."
