"GRADUADO ADVOGADO: My name is Advogado on behalf of Expert Village. Today, we're going to talk about another basic dodge on capoeira. It's called esquira lateral. Esquira again means dodge. Lateral spelled the same. It's just lateral, the same as in English. Esquira lateral is a dodge in the base position, in the base. So we're going to start with the left leg back, left arm up. You step to the base. As I'm in the base position, I'm going to go ahead bend both knees equally so that my weight is evenly distributed. I'm going to put my left ribcage on my left thigh, lower my head as low as it can go, turn my left ear towards my left shoulder so it's down, and my right arm is going to come up and protect my face. Once the person's kick has gone across then I'm going to go ahead and my left leg is going to go back in the ginga back where I started from."
