"Another consideration that you guys need to know for technique is how to approach a drop. Every drop that you approach you should already know some information about it, you should have already scouted it or done it before and when you approach a drop you want to make sure that you paddle into it with the right amount of strokes, with the right timing so that you can pull yourself over that drop whether it would have a soft lift or a hard lift and make sure you have the right angle as you go over the drop. Whether you are going to land front or with a little bit more angle into pull. If you are not approaching the drop and you are just sort of slide over it you tend to loose control and maybe slide off sideways and feel really uncomfortable as you hit the bottom whether you are going sideways, upside down or penciling to the pool below."
