" Hi! My name is Miriam, this is Bess, and today we are going over some rugby skills. Now we are going to work on the passing. When you first learn how to pass a rugby ball, it’s a little bit differently shaped than any ball that you have probably thrown before. We’ll start with the basics; you want to hold it upright directly in front of you, chest high and you would just swing to your side to pass the ball. You would probably start doing this a couple of times and then you would step out, arms width apart, and then give the ball just a little bit of oomph, using your hips. You turn the hips and face where you want the ball to go. Start on one side all the way across the body. Take a couple of steps out. This is about how long you would be passing the ball in a game. You just want to move your hips straight across your body with the ball. Move your hips, little bit of motion, move your hips. If you had to do a super long pass, you would step out, still holding the ball upright, swing through, turn the ball towards your target, and release. Let it naturally spiral. Then you hold it upright as you swing, you turn it, and release. "
