"MICKEY DENONCOURT: Even if you don't have a spare bike, it's important to understand how the concept of the technical pit works in a cyclocross race, how to, you know, get a bike, how to go on and change a wheel real quickly and all that other sort of stuff. So basically, what you have is you have a little, you know, pit lane, like you see in, like, NASCAR or whatever that you can roll into. And, you know, if you have a problem with your bike, you could hand off your bike and get a fresh bike from somebody or, you know, if you have a spare set of wheels and you get a flat, you change a flat tire. So the first thing I want to run through is just how to, you know, how to understand how the pit works. So, you know, open lane, you have your stuff somewhere. So you need to know where you're going when you're coming in. From going in, because I want to change my tire, you know, I'll roll in. I'll start to get off like it's, you know, like it's a barrier section. And, you know, if I'm going to change my front wheel, you need to know--you need to remember certain things. Like, if you have a quick release for your wheels to make it easier to get it off, you know, you need to do and undo it. You want to make sure that, you know, you undo your quick-release lever, swap out your, you know, wheel. And it's, you know, super important to remember to redo these things like quick-release levers and brakes, so that when you get back out on the course your bike doesn't fall apart. That's why it's always good to have a friend who may be racers in another class or something like that that can help you out. So, yeah, say you do have a friend that's there, maybe they're going to let you use their bike as your spare bike during a race. How you come in, how you get rid of a bike, I'm going to show you what the process of handing off your bike looks like and what it looks like to get one."
