"MICKEY DENONCOURT: If you already have a road bike that you're comfortable with the fit of or a mountain bike that you're also comfortable with the fit of, generally, for your seat height on your cyclocross bike, you know, from the center here to the top here, you want to be about the same. You want to be about the same height. So I know I run, you know, 76 centimeters from here to here, so that's what I set up my cross bike as. Oftentimes, I do slide my seat forward a little bit, so I'm a little bit more over the front of the, you know, forward here on the rails, so I'm more over the front of the pedals for a little bit better, you know, just accelerates a little bit better, because you're always accelerating in cyclocross, you know? It's a sport of transition, so you're always accelerating and all that other sort of stuff. If, you know, if you're running an exceptionally high seat, you know, you have maybe a centimeter, a centimeter and a half range that you can run your seat at and have power and be optimally efficient. You know, lowering it a little bit for cross is going to be good because you're riding in so much rough terrain that being able to float a little bit above the saddle is going to be pretty beneficial. So, yeah, you know, when you set up the seat height and seat back on your cross bike, start with a bike that you're comfortable with. And then, you know, if you have to do anything, you might want to come down a little bit and forward a little bit. But otherwise, you're good to go."
