"In steep, loose rock sections like this, you need to be prepared for a wild ride, just like when you're in the mud. It's just less predictable. Sometimes the rocks slide, sometimes they don't. So there's a big, old loose rock pile here that I'm going to purposely send myself through. And what you'll see is that, wanting to do, is I need to keep relaxed but stable and focused, sort of square off towards the fall line and then just let the bike skidder around beneath me trying to find the right line to get to where I need to go. And then, of course, when I get to a good section after the rocks that?s when I can really try to turn and stuff like that. There's just not much I can do over the rocks except survive them until I get to the good stuff."
