"Knowing how hard you can use your brakes when you're riding something really steep--super important. Different terrains, different amount of braking power, different tires different amount of braking power. So, I'm riding pretty steep terrain very slowly, heading towards the camera. And sometimes the front wheel is locked up. I'm not even using my rear brake; I don't need to on this stuff. If I just use my rear brake, I don't stop, I just slide all around. But, as I ride toward the camera here, I'm just playing with my front brake. Like times like this when you're not seriously riding, you can just play--figure out how hard you can use your brake. It becomes second nature when you're going faster, and committing to a section. So, as I come into this--as I come into something that's I know I need to scrub speed to make it out of safely, I'm all over that front brake making sure that I'm applying the appropriate amount of pressure for the appropriate conditions. So, this is something you can do just riding around your street. You can do it a dirt parking or whatever. Just, grab that front brake and see how much pressure it takes with where you're body is over the front wheel to make the back end come off the ground."
