" Hi! I'm Mike Elder, the head coach and general manager of the Miami Fencing Club; that's www.miamifencingclub.com. We meet weekday evenings in South Miami and Saturday afternoons at Miami Day College. Fencing provides an excellent low impact aerobic workout for athletes from age 8 to age 80. What my partner Jose and I are going to show you now are some savor fencing, which is a different style. There are 3 styles of modern competitive fencing, also Olympic fencing, in case you are not aware of that because fencing is an Olympic sport. It's been an Olympic sport since the modern Olympics restarted. In 1896, it is the oldest of the Olympic sports. Okay, this kind of a weapon is called a savor. This is the old calvary soldier's sword. He's up on the horse and he has this kind of sword in his hand. You could imagine from on a horse fighting with another soldier on a horse, you are not going to walk up to the other soldier on a horse and start going like this. You have to be able to mix it actions very fast. The accent savor is like that. You want to hear the side of the blade. I can hear them anywhere here above the waist. Guard. Ready? "
