"Michael Lewis with Yeshua's Ryu Martial Arts on behalf of Expert Village and we are here today to cover the sai. Okay, so now we are going to show you another way of ripping the weapon out of an opponents hand. He is throwing a down strike with an escrima stick. When I block, another way that you can use your technique and whether it is an escrima stick or any other weapon that has a handle that will be sticking out of the bottom of his hand. When you block, you are going to actually take advantage of that end of the weapon. Hook, then rip the weapon out of his hand; therefore, gaining control. Another way of using that is that he throws a strike, actually come in on top of his hand. And so from here I have pretty much broken his grip straight off of the weapon. And from there, he is pretty much done with his hands. It is a very simple way. And also if I come in underneath the end of the stick, from here all I have to do is I can take just this end of the weapon come across and actually spin it to take it out of his hand. And the last way of doing it is here again I catch underneath, here and to the wrist. All I do is hook back in, and I have this end of the weapon here and the hook of my weapon across his hand and I just push downwards and it begins to disarm him. And those are just a few traditional techniques that you can use to disarm an opponent."
