"Hi! This is Mike on behalf of expertvillage.com. For more information about how to pack a bike, please visit Prairie Path Cycles in Winfield, Illinois or check us out on line at www.prairiepathcycles.com. In this clip, I am going to be showing you how to put on the front fork clip and also this protector for the rear derailleur and both of these are going to be very important in keeping your bike well protected when you are shipping it. So you should already have your front wheel, your pedals and your chain derailleur shifted into the right positions. Once there, you are going to want to put this clip on the front fork. It's going to be pretty simple. It's just has some notches here on the ends of this little fork thing and they will just slide right up in where your front axel goes. So once you get one side in, you may need to take a hammer and give just a little push out because sometimes they are a little hard to get in. That way they don't fall out when you are shifting. You want to do this so that way if the fork does hit on the bottom or if it gets thrown or dropped, that the fork can;t bend in or bend outward. Then for the rear derailleur hanger protector, it's going to a little bit trickier to put on. There's a little notch here and that is going to go where the axel is and then the little hole over here on the side is to fit over the quick release. Once you've got your chain shifted all the way up, you are going to want to put this on the inside of the frame and around the axel. That way you can see it kind of gives it a little one inch clearance in between the front derailleur so when the side of the box hits that, it is hitting this plastic piece and setter derailleur will be a lot more protective than just like putting a towel or something over it but you can always do that too just to play it extra safe.
