"Okay, now we're going to work a shoulder crank with a control. She's going to throw her punch, I block, get to the outside position of the body. Now, let's say you were actually trying to go for your arm bar. But what happens if they're arm bends in the middle of all that? You can't try to force and work against them to straighten out their arm, so what you need to do is go ahead and go with it, and execute a shoulder crank. So you actually keep your hands slid up into it, you're going to take your body bicep arm, push up against her arm, to make sure that when it comes out, that it's going to be parallel to her body. And then the control, is that if she tries to spin out or anything like that, you take your hand around, and actually reach up and try to gain control over their body. Now, when you're working with a training partner, people's shoulders and their flexibility in their shoulders is way different. I know for my right shoulder, I have barely any flexibility compared to the left. So, when you're doing this technique, you get somebody into a shoulder crank, don't just bring your hand up and expect to bring them all the way up into the technique. Do it nice and slow. So that's also very important when you're doing these techniques, is to make sure that you stretch. So again, to show you that, she throws a punch, push, block. Again, always remember to strike to have a loosening up technique. If you fold it around, you could actually use your right hand to fold the arm in. So that, as you're striking, that you stretch it out, bring it in, scoop around, maintain control, and then bring it up with the hand there. And that is it. That's how to do a shoulder crank with a control from the outside position of the body."
