"Hi, I'm Mike Payne, owner of Academy for the Martial Arts speaking on behalf of Expert Village on the topic of "What Do You Look for in a Martial Arts School". I would say one of the first concerns in looking for a martial arts school is safety. I think it is very important to have a floor that is padded, kids are going to be falling and rolling so you want to be able to do that and not get hurt. Another priority would be able to use safety equipment when the kids are sparing. They need to be able to practice their techniques in a controlled manner and not get hurt. These are very important. We got head gear, pads for the feet and hands and you need an experienced instructor that can make sure that they keep their eye on the students and that they are passing techniques in a controlled manner."
