"Hi, I?m Mandy Butler on behalf of Expert Village, I?m going to be taking you through some backhand spring drills and some techniques to help you on your way to mastering the backhand spring. Now the first thing you need to have master before you are able to do a cartwheel, a round off or a backhand spring. Any skill that you need to have nice locked elbows and you are going to be going upside down on your hands is a hand stand. You must have a handstand master. It is very very dangerous to move on to skills like a back hand springs without first having the arm strength and the shoulder strength necessary to hold your body upside down vertically. So I?m going to take you through proper hand stand techniques. First, you are going to start with your legs together. You are going to raise your arms up above your head in a nice stretch. I?m going to stretch up on my toes. I have a nice tight body position and I?m going to step into a lounge. It is very important that you separate these 2 because it teaches you nice body control. I?m going to lean over forward now keep in mind that my chest is nice and straight. I?m not bending forward like this. I?m just leaning forward, my body, my back are still straight. I?m going to lean over to a hand stand, come down and land in a lunge with my arms up above my head. My arms stay above my head. They are right at my ears they are not forward or backwards. So this is a proper handstand."
