"Hi, I'm Mark Sullivan for Expert Village. And today you're going to learn how to start a fire with friction. So I'm just basically going to cut a notch into this stick so I can put my string or my twine into this notch and hopefully it will be held in place enough so that it won't slip out. We may need to put a different type of notch -we'll soon find out. So if you're on a desert island, you can make a bow. That's what we're trying to do is to make a bow here. So I'm going to cut this notch into this piece of green stick. I'm being careful not cut towards my own thumb."
