"Hi! I am Matthew Willis and I am with Texas Parkour. Here we are again just trying to explain some of the techniques, some of the urban movements within parkour. Right now we are going to be doing what we call the cat and you are going to use these lot of these urban movements a lot of the time to get through your environment with most efficiency as possible. So if you are going to start doing the cat what you are going to need to do, is approach the object with your feet first. This is really important because it is going to stabilize you if you are going to be doing a large gap or if you are going to fallen from a substantial distance, you want to try to embrace some of the wall so that you don't impact with your hands too much. So what you are going to do is run and your feet are going to hit just a tiny bit before your hands and you are going to latch onto the walls. There are different ways. You can reach over with one hand, you can just reach around the edge; it depends on your style. After that you are going to use the wall to get up and over your object or you are going to drop down. In order to get up and over your object, you usually you take one foot and base it on the wall and with your other foot you are going to kick up and out with your heel so that you can get enough momentum to go up and over your obstacle and while you are on the other side you just take off.
